1986 terrace portrait at golden hour

Put me on the flat concrete terrace of an Indian house in 1986, early evening: mid-80s hair with crown volume and soft curls at the ends, lifting slightly in the breeze, a mustard-yellow salwar kameez with a light dupatta, large bright enamel earrings, a few thin bangles, a bindi, and only a trace of kajal. I am standing near a low parapet wall, one hand resting on it, body turned toward the light, looking slightly off-camera, relaxed and unposed. Behind and below: neighbouring rooftops with black plastic water tanks, TV aerial antennas, clothes lines with washing, a water tank ladder and a hazy skyline. Weathered stained concrete underfoot. The sun is very low, twenty minutes before setting, coming across from the left almost horizontally, throwing long soft shadows across the terrace, with warm orange light on the left of my face and a cool blue-grey ambient on the shadow side, and dust in the air catching the light. 35mm film, 1986: grain, warm cast, cyan-shifted shadows, slightly casual family-snapshot framing.
