Use my uploaded photo. Count the people in it and render exactly that many — no more, no fewer. Anchor each face to its counterpart by left-to-right order. Do not merge, average, swap or blend any two identities, and do not make us look more alike than we are. Keep each face exactly as it is — same features, skin tone, age and natural asymmetry, no slimming, lightening or smoothing. Every visible arm must connect to exactly one person and that connection must be anatomically correct: where an arm goes over a shoulder, the shoulder it rests on and the body it comes from must both be clear. Render every visible hand with five correctly formed fingers, or keep that hand out of frame entirely — do not produce a hand that belongs to nobody. Change only hair, clothes, pose and surroundings. Put us at an Indian college in 1985, arranged informally on a flight of stone steps: most standing in a loose row with arms over each other's shoulders, one crouched at the front, one sitting on the step edge, postures relaxed and uneven rather than lined up, mixed expressions with some laughing, some mid-speech and most looking at the camera. Mid-80s student hair, a bit longer, untidy, no product, varied across the group. Casual clothes in faded denim, white and primary colours — denim jackets, plain and printed shirts, high-waisted straight jeans, salwar kameez with pinned dupattas, canvas shoes and leather sandals, cloth sling bags, books under arms. Behind us plastered pillars, a notice board layered with paper too blurred to read, and bright sunlit greenery beyond. We are in open shade with bright midday sun outside: soft even slightly cool light, no hard shadows, no flash, and the sunlit area beyond blown out several stops brighter. 35mm film shot by a friend, 1985: grain, flat contrast, warm faded colour, cyan shadows, a slightly crooked and slightly too-tight frame that clips someone's elbow at the edge.
