## Gotchas & Anti-Patterns

| Mistake | Why It's Bad | Fix |

| `SELECT *` in production | Wastes bandwidth, blocks covering index scans | List columns explicitly |
| Function on indexed column (`WHERE UPPER(email) = ...`) | Prevents index use | Expression index: `CREATE INDEX ... ON (UPPER(email))` |
